Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas Jack
Well, it’s Christmas Day at last. There are no more sleeps to go and everyone is very excited. We have all worked very hard to make sure everything was done in time for my Christmas Eve flight last night. This year seems to have passed by so quickly and I can’t believe you are already 6 years old Jack. Time certainly flies by.
At the North Pole, we have been very busy indeed. Mrs Claus and I and all our elves and helpers have worked very hard this year. I imagine you have also been very busy playing with Thomas the dog and Bob the builder.
I’m sure you had great fun this year sharing in all the Christmas preparations with your friends and family. I'm sure Thomas the dog and Bob the builder are also very excited that it is finally Christmas. Did you help decorate the Christmas tree and put up all the other Christmas decorations this year? It was certainly lovely to look down from my sleigh to see all the shiny lights and sparkling decorations as my reindeer and I dashed about last night.
Did you know some elves visited your house in Melbourne this year and looked in through the window? The elves told me they saw you sitting on the floor playing with your toys.
I wonder if you noticed a little elf peeking through the window? His name is Estrello and he told me that you looked up just as he put his nose above the window sill. He quickly jumped out the way and he told me he didn’t think you saw him.
I was very pleased to hear all Estrello told me about you Jack and I can tell you a little secret. This morning you should look very carefully for any boxes or bags or wrappers or stockings with your name on them because I certainly made a call to your house last night. Of course, while I was in Melbourne I also paid a visit to your friend Jason. It is such a treat for me to visit all the children around the world and I had lots of fun on Christmas Eve this year.
I must tell you that I am very lucky because children all around the world leave tasty snacks and refreshing drinks for me on Christmas Eve. In fact, last year I ate so many scrumptious cakes and biscuits and sandwiches and fruit, all washed down with delicious drinks of cider and milk and cordial and lemonade, that my Santa suit became a little squeezy around my tummy.
The belt began to tickle me and I started to laugh. I was laughing so loudly that the buttons on my old Santa suit just popped right off. Well, of course, that just made me laugh all the more and before I knew it my tummy was peeking through my shirt and I was feeling the nip of the chilly North Pole wind.
So this year I have a swanky, new Santa suit with shiny black boots, a warm, red, woollen coat and a beautiful, furry, white collar and cuffs. It certainly kept me warm and cosy on my flight last night. I even had room for a couple of snacks while I did my work!
I imagine your Mummy and Daddy have told you about my fine, strong herd of reindeer who pull the sleigh behind them as they prance across the sky on Christmas Eve. They are very special, magical reindeer who can fly so fast that I can visit all of the children around the world in one night. Christmas truly is a magical time.
Well, I must be signing off now as I am very tired after my deliveries last night. Say hello to Jason and all your friends for me. I wish you a wonderful, happy Christmas and want you to know that on this Christmas morning I am thinking about my very special friend Jack.
Best Wishes and Merry Christmas
